THE 2009 AYSO+ POST SEASON (ELECTIVE) TOURNAMENT HAS BEEN RE-SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY 2 & 3, 2010.

 GAMES TO BE PLAYED AT TUSTIN SPORTS PARK & COLUMBUS TUSTIN - CITY OF TUSTIN.

 ALL TEAMS THAT HAD ENTERED THE TOURNAMENT IN DECEMBER (RAINED OUT) HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED AND THOSE TEAMS ABLE TO PARTICIPATE ON THESE NEW DATES ARE LISTED UNDER "ACCEPTED TEAMS."

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SCHEDULE ALSO INCLUDES REFEREE ASSIGNMENTS - COACHES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THAT THEIR REFEREES OFFICIATE THOSE MATCHES AS INDICATED ON THE SCHEDULE.....AVOID POINT DEDUCTIONS FOR FAILURE TO DO SO.....

FORMAT OF PLAY

IF YOUR TEAM IS IN A FLIGHT OF EIGHT (8) TEAMS:

IF YOUR TEAM IS IN A FLIGHT OF SIX (6) TEAMS:

  • You will be in a pool of three (3) teams.
  • You will play three (3) games “cross pool” – all members of a given pool will play all the members of the opposite pool.
  • The top four (4) teams, based on points, irrespective of pool, (1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th place of combined pools A & B) will advance to the flight finals,
  • The first place and second place teams of the combined pools will play each other for the flight championship (1st place, pool AB vs. 2nd place, pool AB).  The third and fourth place teams of the combined pools will play each other in the flight consolation match (3rd place, pool AB vs. 4th place, pool AB).

IF YOUR TEAM IS IN A FLIGHT OF FOUR (4) TEAMS:

  • You will be in a pool of four (4) teams.
  • You will play three (3) games against the other members of your pool – all members of a pool will play all the other members of their pool.
  • Standings will be based on points earned in pool play.

IF YOUR TEAM IS IN A FLIGHT OF THREE (3) TEAMS:

  • You will be in a pool of THREE (3) teams.
  • You will play two (2) games against the other members of your pool – all members of a pool will play all the other members of their pool.
  • Standings will be based on points earned in pool play.

IF YOUR TEAM IS IN A FLIGHT OF TWO (2) TEAMS:

  • You will be in a pool of two (2) teams.
  • You will play one (1) game against the other member of your pool.
  • Standings will be based on points earned in pool play.

As all teams participating in the Tournament needed to have a Referee team representing them, the Referee assignments for Pool Play games for each team will either have them officiate the game before or after when that team plays.  The exact assignment of which team is responsible for a specific game is planned to be posted to the website shortly.

 Referee assignments for the Final games will primarily utilize neutral referees unaffiliated with teams participating in the event.
